FEAR OF FAITH Beginner Guide
Your first-bunker survival loop, based on officially confirmed mechanics and verified against build 0.05.008.
You are a cloned soldier dropped into a cursed WWII bunker to recover SYNTRUM. Survive, scavenge, and get out — or face what the bunker keeps in the dark.
The first-run loop
- Pick a class — 4 playable classes, each with its own passives and spells. No single "best" class is officially published.
- Manage FAITH & FEAR — casting spells consumes FAITH and raises FEAR. Alcohol and ally spells bring FEAR back down.
- Use the environment — ignite oil, electrify water, polymorph a GHOUL into a RAT, or cast silent step and sneak.
- Scavenge physically — every gameplay item is physical: grab it, throw it, use it from your hands.
- Face the B.O.S.S. — expeditions escalate into boss encounters that punish the unprepared.
- Missions & extraction — follow the current objective, recover SYNTRUM, and use the guiding sphere to orient toward mission goals and extraction.
Choose your class first
The official store page describes 4 classes, each with its own passives and spells, and encourages finding class-spell-environment synergies. Class names and exact abilities have not been published officially — start with whichever role fits your group, then check the Classes hub and Builds & Synergies.
The FEAR & FAITH loop you must respect
Casting spells consumes FAITH and causes FEAR. Some eldritch horrors drain FAITH too. If you fail to keep FAITH steady, SHE will come for you — and you become a GHOUL, or something worse. Officially suggested ways to control FEAR: alcohol, ally spells, keeping the generator lights on, and buying COPIUM during a mission. Full details: FEAR & FAITH.
Generator: light is a choice
With the generator active, light restores FAITH and slightly tames monsters — but it blocks paths filled with valuable loot. Embrace the dark for greater gain. Plan generator decisions as a team: Generator guide.
Items are physical
Grab, throw, or use items directly from your hands. Slowly open doors to check for traps, or kick them open during a chase. You can even throw away a grenade triggered by a tripwire — and teammates can catch items mid-air. The official warning: don't toss them an active grenade.
Missions, SYNTRUM & extraction
Run the current mission objective, recover SYNTRUM, and make it back out. The guiding sphere now tracks the current objective instead of only the SYNTRUM extractor and was fixed in 0.05.008 so it no longer heads into dead ends or through walls. Treat it as navigation support, not a substitute for managing FEAR & FAITH. Exact objectives, extraction rules and upgrade costs remain unpublished.
